Yelp! It's the Next Tweetup!

According to their site, Yelp! allows consumers to share the experiences they've had with local businesses and lets business owners share information about their business with their customers. Simply put, it's word of mouth-- amplified. Yelp! is also available for businesses. Once you've unlocked your page you can use Yelp for Business Owners to provide updated information on your business, post announcements and special offers, and communicate with your customers.

Homegrown Tomatoes - Nothing in the world like homegrown tomatoes!

We want to welcome Fresh & Local, LLC to the Peddler's Son Produce extended family of vendors! Jaime Zavala and his family, based out of Stanfield, AZ, are growing our pesticide-free cluster tomatoes.

Our customers have asked for more locally grown produce to support their sustainability programs as well as the local economy. Here at Peddler's Son Produce, we're doing the same. We're creating a program that outlines not only locally grown produce, but things we're doing to help our people and the environment.

Yankee Fan?!

For today, Mark Damato, our Vice President of Retail Sales, is a Yankee fan. You see, at the beginning of baseball season Mark made a bet with Aliza, our human resource representative. The loser wears the winning team's apparel. Aliza just happens to be a Yankee fan and Mark a Red Sox fan.

Our fellow team members think Mark looks much better in blue than red.

Aliza would like to thank Mark for being a good sport and also says 'In your face!'

Ahhhh. The spirit of competition lives at Peddler's Son Produce.

Sweeeeet Tomatoes!

We're really excited about our new partnership with Desert Glory. Starting next week, we will sell Desert Glory Yellow Cherry Tomatoes and Grape Tomatoes exclusively. These really are the sweetest and best tomatoes I've tasted.

The tomatoes are grown year round and are consistently priced. All of the tomatoes are vine-ripened and have a shelf life of 21 days. Remember to store tomatoes at room temperature in a shaded area and never refrigerate.

Der Kaffee Kuchen is hosting the 2009 Oktoberfest on the 2nd and 3rd of October at the Suprise Baseball Stadium. Lots of great food, dancing, contests and music direct from Germany featuring "Zwei Schwarzwaldmusikanten Band". Great fun for the family as it cools off for $5.00 per person and kids under 12 are free. My wife goes to Germany on business evry year and attends Oktoberfest. I have taken her to Der Kaffee Kuchen for dinner and she says it is just like being back in Germay which just happens to be her favorite destination. It's Football Season!!!

A lot of people would say this is the most wonderful time of the year - football season!!

No one agrees more with this statement than Ted Palmisano, the President of Peddler's Son Produce. His passion for football has followed him through his life. He played football growing up in Wisconsin and later for Mankato State University as a guard on the offensive line. He then coached his son's Pop Warner Football team and became a spotter for his Scottsdale Community College football team. (Go Artichokes!)

As his son's football career came to an end, Ted still wanted a connection with the game and became involved with the Arizona Football Officials Association. This program educates referees for the various football programs in the state of Arizona. He is currently on his second year in the program and at level 4 of 5 for high school football games. His goal is to get to the 'Friday Night Lights' before the end of the season.

Ted feels the lessons he learns in football; the ups and downs, winning and losing and most of all, being part of a team, are what has helped him become a better business person.

So he asks you, "Are you ready for some football?"
