Mangoes supply expected tight until mid-March

Mango supplies are very low due to El Nino-related weather conditions, and they will likely stay low well into March, importers say.
Rains have seriously limited supplies from Peru, and the upcoming Mexican deals are a big question mark for the same reason.
The first Mexican shipments from the southern state of Chiapas crossed the border Feb. 18, and volumes will increase slowly, and won’t peak until mid-March.
Strong winds and late rains in mid-February in the state of Nayarit could push the beginning of the deal back in May. The rains could lead to volume and quality issues.
